Brendan Rodgers Reveals Youri Tielemans’ Transfer Wish Amid Interest From Arsenal

Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers says Youri Tielemans wants to have his future sorted out as soon as possible.

Arsenal have been heavily linked with a move for the Belgian international, while the likes of Manchester United, Tottenham and West Ham also said to be interested in the player. However, Rodgers claims that the Foxes have received no bids for the player, leaving Tielemans in limbo:

“Of course, it is in the back of the mind, that sort of what-if scenario, but he doesn’t want anything to drag on either.”

There have been mixed messages about whether the Gunners will actually table an offer for Tielemans before the transfer window closes later this month.

Some suggest that manager Mikel Arteta has major reservations about the 25-year-old, while others feel it is simply a matter of Arsenal being keen to offload a number of fringe players first.

If the London club are, in fact, keen on recruiting Tielemans, they are taking a big risk by waiting so long to make a bid, as it leaves them very open to the deal being hijacked by another team. We shall see how this transfer story develops over the coming weeks.
