Boca Juniors star opens door for Arsenal switch

Boca Juniors star Cristian Pavon has intensified rumours he could be on his way to The Emirates before the end of the month after admitting uncertainty over his future.

Arsene Wenger is looking to bolster his squad after losing Alexis Sanchez to Manchester United.

And while he has sealed the services of Henrikh Mkhitaryan – the Armenian is coming the other way from Old Trafford in place of Sanchez – and still working on a deal for Borussia Dortmund’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, it is understood he is keen on the Argentine youngster.

The 22-year-old has scored three goals and produced five assists in 12 appearances for Boca this season and admits loving life in his home country, however has not shut the door on a move away.

Pavon said when asked about his future with his current club: “One always gives the maximum so that other teams love you.

Aubameyang (above) could also be on his way to The Emirates before the end of the month.

“I wish it was fixed, I said at one point that I was going to stay but, well, I still do not know anything.

“I prefer to play games and not be focused on what happens outside.

“I will sit down to talk with my manager [Fernando Hidalgo], with my family, and I will see what happens.”

Pavon is tied to a contract at Boca until 2022, but is reported to have a €37m release clause in that deal.
