Arsenal and Burnley could go head to head in the race to sign Stoke City centre-back Nathan Collins, according to the Sun.
The 19-year-old is being tracked by the Gunners but it is believed that Burnley will have the edge in the battle to sign him before the January transfer window closes.
After a takeover, manager Sean Dyche has money to spend and the Sun claims that bidding for Collins could “start this week” with the Clarets prepared to pay as much as £10m for the defender.
Arsenal reportedly don’t have that level of funds to shell out on the Republic of Ireland Under 21 international and, with Stoke tipped to demand a sizeable figure for the teenager, the London club could miss out on the player.
Collins is a highly rated young defender and has been heavily linked with Manchester United over the past year, while Crystal Palace are also believed to be keen on the centre-half.
