Arsenal fans have heaped praise on in-form striker Alexandre Lacazette.
The Frenchman netted twice in Arsenal’s 4-1 win over West Ham this afternoon, taking his total for the season to 15 goals – 13 of which have come in the Premier League.
Arsene Wenger’s side took the lead through Nacho Monreal five minutes after half-time, however were pegged back only 13 minutes later when Marko Arnautovic levelled for the visitors.
The Gunners left it late to secure all three points, and were rescued by Aaron Ramsey who netted his 11th of the season with a fortunate effort from outside the box.
And it was Lacazette who made sure for the hosts, first beating Joe Hart from the edge of the area on 85 minutes, before adding his second and Arsenal’s fourth only four minutes later with a neat finish.
“I think we are at the moment top of the home league. We constructed patiently our win in the first half, it was tough to find space.” said manager Arsene Wenger after the hard fought victory.
“From the second half onwards we looked like we could score as we found more space.
“At 1-1 you could see we were wobbling or not and the second goal killed them.”
Lacazette’s double saw him extend his lead at the top of Arsenal’s scoring charts in the league, and close in on some of the Premier League’s biggest hitters – namely Romelu Lukaku, who has scored only three more than the Arsenal frontman.
Not bad for man whose spent half a season watching from the sidelines …
Lacazette now has 13 goals
Lukaku has 16 goals.
Laca played like 7 games less.

Lacazette has scored 6 goals in 6 games since returning from injury. I think the knee problem did him a great disservice in the first half of the season.

Lacazette is only three Premier League goals behind Lukaku in his first season here, having played 770 less, but United fans think he’s flopped, roll on next season.

Judging by those two late goals, Lacazette should have played the full 90 minutes more often this season…
