Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi helped the Gunners keep another clean sheet against Standard Liege last night, and it has raised some questions over whether Unai Emery should bring him back in for league games.
The team have not conceded a goal when the German has featured so far this season, although it must be said that the standard of opposition has been lower in the Europa League and Carabao Cup.
Even so, it prompted a debate on Twitter among fans who were asked whether Mustafi deserves to start against Bournemouth on Sunday:
better than Luiz, Papa et al.

Hell no

100%, he hasn’t put a foot wrong this season. Looks a different player

Stop with the jokes

If he’s playing well… play him.

Few europa league games and one carling cup game and suddenly he`s sooooo good. Ridicilous.

Sad state of affairs when you actually got to admit he's playing better than a 1st teamer. Sokratis needs to be dropped

Yes. The same back four as last night deserves to play.

On current form he deserves another chance to impress in the league

Should give a chance. We are fair.

No. Don’t forget he cost us top 4 last year. Unforgivable.

David Luiz and Sokratis have certainly not looked a secure centre-back partnership, but the man probably most deserving of coming into the side is Rob Holding rather than Mustafi.
Out of the four options, the 24-year-old is the most consistently reliable and may help improve a defence that has already conceded eleven goals in seven league games this campaign.
