Atletico Madrid may well consider a swap deal involving Thomas Partey and Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette, according to reports in Spain.
Partey is a top summer target for the Gunners but the London club do not have the funds to trigger the player’s £44m release clause.
However, Atletico are said to be very interested in Lacazette, which could give Arsenal some leverage over Manchester United in possible negotiations for Partey. Fans think a player swap could be a good idea:
Best case scenario imo

This deal would make a lot of sense for Arsenal, Auba stays and we give players like Martinelli and Nketiah a run in the Cups upfront

I’d personally be very happy with that deal. It’s strengthens the whole team spine
Then replace Laca with a younger player (Eddie) or buy in a cheap young player (Edouard)or even Jovic on loan.Loan Balogun out for the season to get experience

I’m here for that

No brainer for me. To exchange an average player with Thomas Partey would be really good business.

Only remotely acceptable if Auba stays, if not then we have got massive problems if they both go. Getting Partey and Keeping Auba would be a great start to Arteta rebuilding the squad

Lacazette actually could have signed for Atletico three years ago before he moved to the Emirates, but the Spanish club were hit with a transfer ban which prevented the move from going ahead.
The 28-year-old has struggled for form in the second half of the season, and manager Mikel Arteta could well be tempted to offload him if it means securing a deal for a player like Partey who he is reportedly keen to recruit.
