Robert Pires
While Robert Pires mainly found himself playing on the wings, his ability to drift inside and create chances with beautiful skills made him an extremely effective attacking midfielder.
Outside of Arsenal, Pires played for a host of other highly reputable clubs, including Marseille, Villareal and a brief stint at Aston Villa.
Some may remember Pires mainly for his infamous failed “fake-out” penalty with Thierry Henry – but this is an enormous shame, as Pires is perhaps one of the easiest players on the eye that Arsenal have ever had.
