Bellerin insists he remains focused on football in response to ‘fashion critics’

Arsenal star Hector Bellerin has insisted he remains ‘focused on football’ after receiving criticism from fans for his interest in fashion.

The Spaniard has been in terrific form for the Gunners in recent weeks, helping guide Arsene Wenger’s men to four consecutive victories in all competitions – however he still cannot seem the escape his critics.

Bellerin has been criticised in recent months after appearing at London Fashion Week and openly sharing his interests in the industry on social media, with fans believing he should be focusing on matters on the field and at the club rather than his personal hobbies.

But the former Barcelona youngster has insisted he remains focused, and says he now chooses to ignore such critics, saying it’s normal for anybody to have interests outside of their profession.

“So many people Tweet me saying focus on the game, having seen me at fashion shows or whatever, and I am just like ‘don’t worry’,” said Bellerin.

“I am a human being. I have passions, I have hobbies but equally, I am a footballer and that is my main focus.”

Bellerin has made 29 starts this season for the Gunners, scoring three goals – two of those coming in his last seven games, including a dramatic last minute equaliser during the club’s 2-2 draw with Chelsea last month.
