Bellerin A Big Miss For The Gunners

Bellerin A Big Miss For The Gunners

Unfortunately, Arsenal have not avoided the dreaded November injury curse. It`s been a long year for Wenger’s boys who have barely had the chance to take a weekend off given many of them playing at the European championships and also given the fact that Arsenal are involved in multiple competitions throughout the season.

This year could really be the Gunners’ year when it comes to winning the Premier League title. Despite the draw with Tottenham they are still in good shape and ready to compete for first place. In recent statements Wenger admitted that he was worried about his players and the injuries they might pick up in the international break. The situation with Hector Bellerin was a result of the game he last played for the Gunners against Tottenham.

As the Independent have reported Hector Bellerin will be unavailable until the middle of December after sustaining his ankle injury in the last minute of the North London Derby and Arsene Wenger had this to say about the incident which caused the injury:

“It was in the last 10 seconds,” Wenger said of Rose’s tackle on Bellerin. “It was a bad one. It’s annoying to lose Bellerin, that’s for sure. Did Rose want to injure Bellerin? I don’t think so. He just went in for the tackle.”

So it is really bad luck that Bellerin got hurt so late on in the game but Danny Rose’s manager defended him as Mauricio Pochettino feels it was simply a case of his player making a legitimate challenge for the ball and unfortunately the contact caused an injury to Bellerin.

Arsenal will be hoping that Alexis Sanchez is still ok after his exploits for Chile during the week and judging by his 2 goals against Uruguay the thigh problem that kept him on the bench against Colombia could be a minor issue that he is already recovered from.

Aaron Ramsey who just got over a hamstring injury featured for the whole 90 minutes for Wales against Serbia and hopefully he will be able to play whatever role he is needed for by Wenger.

With Santi Cazorla, Lucas Perez, Danny Welbeck and Per Mertesacker all injured Arsenal will be hoping for no more injuries to hurt their momentum this season as it promises to be a good campaign for the Gunners. Arsenal will be looking to beat United and help Arsene Wenger improve his poor record against Jose Mourinho as he has never beaten the Portuguese boss in his 11 matches vs the former Chelsea boss.
