Barcelona Set To Rival Arsenal In Battle For £52m Rated Dutch Star

Barcelona have entered the race for PSV forward Donyell Malen, according to Sport. The Catalan based publication report that the Spanish champions have been keeping tabs on the Dutchman as a possible long-term successor for Luis Suarez.

The 20-year-old was offloaded by Arsenal to PSV two years ago, but it is believed that the Gunners are looking to re-sign the striker, with a number of other Premier League teams, including Liverpool, also said to be keen on the player.

Malen does have a hefty price tag, though, with PSV reportedly holding out for €60m (£52m). Sport report that the Dutch international’s agent is Mino Raiola and he would look to auction off the starlet.

Barcelona are hesitant about paying over the odds for a forward, after deciding against signing Eintracht Frankfurt striker Luka Jovic last summer, and that could well play into Arsenal’s hands.

Malen has been in scintillating form, having scored 16 goals in 18 appearances for PSV this campaign.
