Balotelli No Longer Arsenal’s Priority

Rumors linked Balotelli to Arsenal on several occasions. The Gunners seemed first in line to sign the Italian player who started the World Cup in a very promising way. Unfortunately for him, the way he left Brazil made Wenger think twice before sending an offer to Milano. According to Metro, Berlusconi admitted to the fact that negotiations have stalled after Balotelli’s last match of the group stages.

Balotelli seemed like the best choice for Arsenal who have been looking for a player with his abilities and versatility. Despite the Italian’s eagerness to return to England, clubs like Arsenal and Chelsea are now doubtful when it comes to the young striker. Wenger, who had the chance of seeing Balotelli from up close while in Brazil, has directed his attention elsewhere with Barcelona’s Alexis Sanchez becoming a priority.

Milan owner, Silvio Berlusconi recently pointed out that because of Balotelli’s attitude towards the last and most important game of the group stages, all interested parties have dropped negotiations. Liverpool was also linked to the Italian who looks set on staying for at least one more year in Italy. Berlusconi admitted that he was supposed to sell the striker for £30 million before the World Cup. He also admitted that Balotelli’s future club was a top tier Premier League team which confirmed rumors that both Arsenal and Chelsea were close to signing a deal with Milan.
