It was a pretty uneventful game at Goodison Park yesterday, but one of the few good things to come from Arsenal’s performance was a rare clean sheet.
Calum Chambers was a key reason for keeping Everton out, and his form in recent months has certainly given Gunners fans something to cheer about. Supporters on Twitter were quick to praise the 24-year-old following yesterday’s game:

And to think he was going to be sold ? easily one of our most dependable centre backs these days

He actually came back from Fulham looking very ready per his first match, how he got dropped, only Emery can explain that. Let's go again @CalumChambers95

Considering how abject some of Arsenal’s defending has been this season, it could be argued that Chambers is just the best of a bad bunch, but that would be doing the centre-back a disservice.
He was written off when he was loaned out to Fulham last campaign, and his determination on his return to the club in the summer to make an impact needs to be given the credit it deserves.
Whether Chambers is in Mikel Arteta‘s long term plans, we shall have to wait and see, but the Spaniard is certainly going to be relying on the defender over the coming weeks and months.
