Aubameyang Handed Award After Fine Form For Arsenal

Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has won the club’s player of the month award for August, after a fine start to the season for the Gunners.

The 30-year-old beat Joe Willock and Matteo Guendouzi to the prize as he won 34% of the votes from fans. He scored three goals in his first four league games of the campaign.

Aubameyang scored the winner in the 1-0 win over Newcastle on the opening day and followed that up with another crucial goal in the 2-1 victory against Burnley just a week later.

The strike versus the Clarets was also voted as the club’s goal of the month, as the Gabonese star cut in from the left-hand side to unleash a strike from range.

Aubameyang did not score against Liverpool in the 3-1 defeat but was on hand to lay on the pass for Lucas Torreira to score. He got on the scoresheet again by scoring the equaliser in the 2-2 draw versus Spurs in the North London derby last weekend.
