Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey is set to “undergo medical checks” ahead of his proposed move to Arsenal, according to insider TheAFCBell.
The Twitter account was the first to break the news today that the Gunners were prepared to pay the Ghanaian’s €50m (£45m) release clause and he has now tweeted out an update that says:
“Thomas Partey will now undergo medical checks in preparation for his transfer to Arsenal.”
توماس بارتي سوف يخضع الآن للفحوصات الطبية تمهيدًا لانتقاله لنادي أرسنال الإنجليزي.

Personal terms could still be an issue so even though a medical has now apparently been arranged, this is likely due to the time constraints of the transfer window closing tonight. Everything needs to be completed as quickly as possible in order to make sure a deal can be finalised if a salary can be agreed.
Partey’s move to the Gunners seemed almost dead this morning with Atletico Madrid said to be “convinced” that the player was staying put, but the buyout clause in the 27-year-old’s contract always meant that there was a possibility of this happening.
