Arteta Set To Roll The Dice With Risky £50m Move For 25 Year Old Defender

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta believes he can help Manchester City defender John Stones reach his full potential and he is prepared to take a gamble on the 25-year-old in the summer, according to 90min.com.

The website claims the England international will be offloaded by the Citizens at the end of the season after failing to win over manager Pep Guardiola during his time at the Etihad Stadium.

Stones’ career at City has been littered with mistakes and the centre-back has only started ten league games this season, with the player seemingly destined to leave the Premier League champions.

However, despite his form, 90min.com report that City will look to recoup the £50m they paid Everton for the player in 2016, and it seems Arteta is willing to take a risk on the centre-back.

The Spaniard worked with Stones for the best part of three years whilst being the assistant manager at City, and he appears to be convinced that he can help improve his game.
