Arteta Set To Leave Arsenal

Arteta Set To Leave Arsenal

Arteta seems closer to a transfer to Italy rather than to a new deal with Arsenal. Apparently, Fiorentina are interested in signing the 32 year old midfielder who simply cannot reach an agreement with this current club. The Spaniard has become a primary target for the Italians who lost three of their most important players. Their offer might be tempting considering the Gunners’ policy regarding players over 30. Artenta will not receive a contract which exceeds 1 year in length. Because of that he might be looking to find something closer to a long-term commitment.

The 32 year old seemed a bit bothered by the club’s policy. The Spaniard pointed out that age is not as important and that he has different values than Arsenal when it comes to such concepts. According to the Daily Mail, He also pointed out the fact that despite being one of the oldest players in Wenger’s lot he still managed to make more appearances than younger colleagues who barely made it to half of his stats.

Moving to Fiorentina would be a step back for Arteta. The Italians will not play in the Champions League next year but will be features in the Europa League. With Arsenal looking to increase their squad and spend big money on important transfers, Arteta might have a shot at actually winning the competition next year. Unfortunately things are not going well between him and the club. The player seems unhappy with the fact that he is not being offered a long-term deal which means a transfer is very likely.
