Arteta Seriously Considering Selling Arsenal Star After Catalogue Of Disciplinary Issues

Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta is weighing up selling Matteo Guendouzi at the end of the season, according to reports in the English media.

The Gunners boss has been left frustrated with the Frenchman’s immaturity and lack of discipline both on the training pitch and around the squad in general.

Guendouzi reportedly made a bad first impression on Arteta after being caught messing around while the Spaniard was leading a tactical briefing, analysing the team’s training performance.

He was then dropped for the win against Newcastle earlier this year following some trouble during the mid-season training camp in Dubai.

Guendouzi was picked by Arteta for the first two games following the Premier League’s return. However, the unsavoury incident with Neal Maupay, which saw the France Under 21 international grab the Brighton forward around the throat, has again led to question marks over his future.

With the midfielder escaping punishment for the indiscretion, he will be available for the game against Southampton tomorrow night. It will be interesting to see if Arteta picks him in the starting eleven.
