Arteta Sees Brazilian As ‘Ideal’ Goalkeeper With Agent ‘Working’ On Completing Move To Arsenal

Arsenal are actively pursuing Barcelona goalkeeper Neto, according to Mundo Deportivo. The Catalan newspaper reports that Gunners’ boss Mikel Arteta sees the Brazilian international as the “ideal” player for his system due to the ability he possesses with his feet.

Despite links with the likes of Sheffield United’s Aaron Ramsdale and West Brom’s Sam Johnstone in recent days, Mundo Deportivo insist Neto is the “main option” and that his agent is “working” hard to get the deal over the line.

Arsenal tried to snap up the 31-year-old back in the January transfer window, and while the shot-stopper was keen on making the move to the Emirates, an agreement could not be reached.

The London club eventually opted for Brighton’s Maty Ryan instead but, with the Australian international having returned to the Amex, Arteta has asked Edu and his recruitment team to find another option. It appears Neto is the number one choice currently.
