Arteta Delivers Injury Update On Key Arsenal Star Ahead Of West Brom Clash

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta says he is hopeful that winger Bukayo Saka will not be sidelined for too long after an injury forced him off in the latter stages of the 1-0 win over Brighton last night.

The 19-year-old was in scintillating form once again, providing the assist for Alexandre Lacazette’s winner midway through the second half, but he had to replaced by Dani Ceballos when he picked up a knock. Asked about the issue after the game, Arteta said he is optimistic that it wasn’t anything serious:

“He was limping as he took a strong challenge. Hopefully he’ll be alright.”

The Gunners face West Brom on Saturday evening, hoping to make it three wins on the bounce, following their victory over the Seagulls yesterday evening. Saka is a key creative outlet for Arteta and supporters will be keeping their fingers crossed that he’ll be available for the trip to the Hawthorns. The Baggies are likely to set 11 men behind the ball so it would be a big boost to have the England international available to unlock a stubborn defence.
