Arsenal centre-back Rob Holding put in a standout performance in the 2-1 win against Liverpool last night. The fact that he hadn’t started a game for three weeks made the display all the more impressive.
There were no signs of rustiness as he helped keep Jurgen Klopp’s side at bay in the second half and supporters on Twitter are now hoping he starts the FA Cup semi-final against Manchester City this weekend:
Arteta better not drop him again.

Our win ratio must be so much higher when he’s playing.

When I saw him using his strength on mane. I laughed. I hailed him “Yeah!! ? That’s it!!” That’s how to show that you are also strong. Because you don’t take it lightly with players like Mane. He uses his power, speed, pace, pass, to outrun you

Holding definitely made a case for himself to start more often and head coach Mikel Arteta will now have a big decision to make ahead of the game at Wembley.
The fact that Shkodran Mustafi was rested yesterday evening does suggest the German will remain the favourite to be selected for the City game, but his position in the starting eleven will be under threat.
Holding has had a difficult season, following his return from a serious knee injury, but he is certainly finishing the campaign strongly.
