Arsene Wenger Linked With Barca Job But He Wants To Stay At Arsenal

The position of Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger will continue to be questioned over the remaining months and weeks of the season, however, speculation over other vacant roles will continue to intensify rumours.

With the announcement that Barcelona manager Luis Enrique will step down at the Nou Camp come the end of this season, many are linking the Frenchman with a move to the Catalan club.

However, Wenger has confirmed that whilst his heart does not want to leave Arsenal, his head may have to tell him otherwise when the time comes that he must make a decision.

There remains a two-year deal on the table from the powers that be at The Emirates, however, given the criticism coming from some corners of the support in north London the former Monaco manager, who has been in the hot seat for over two decades, may feel it is time to call it a day.

However, he has made it clear that he will be in management next season, wherever that be, and whilst he has stated that he is not looking for jobs at the moment, the vicious level of criticism from some fans could be the catalyst in him looking elsewhere.

As well as Barcelona looking for a new manager, the newly rich Inter Milan, who have been bank-rolled by Chinese investors, look to be in the market for a new boss.

Wenger is seemingly determined to add the Champions League to his trophy cabinet, which already includes three Premier League titles and six FA Cups, and he would undoubtedly prefer that to be at Arsenal.

However, it may be a wake up call to Gunners fans that he is still attracting interest from the biggest clubs in the world, where winning Europe’s top trophy would arguably be much more probable.

The Frenchman has previously turned down offers to take on the biggest jobs in football, including Real Madrid, Barcelona, France and England, amongst others, opting to stay in north London.

Therefore, whilst they may not be happy in the moment, Arsenal fans may need to take a step back and look at the commitment Wenger is showing them, before considering showing their manager a similar level, enabling all involved to move on from the matter and push towards getting the club back to the top.
