“Arsenal’s Priority…” Romano Reveals Whether The Gunners Will Target Mudryk Or Pulisic In January

Arsenal favour making a move for Shakhtar Donetsk winger Mykhaylo Mudryk ahead of Chelsea’s Christian Pulisic, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

Reports at the weekend suggested that the Gunners (along with Manchester United and Newcastle) were weighing up loan bids for Pulisic but Romano says Mudryk remains the number one target:

“His [Pulisic’s] future depends on the proposals, at the moment the situation is still quiet; Arsenal’s priority remains Mudryk for January but it’s still early.”

Whether Mudryk remains the top priority, though will probably depend on Shakhtar lowering their asking price for the player. Club director Darijo Srna has said the Ukrainian side won’t accept an offer below €100m (£87m).

For that fee, it is very unlikely that Mikel Arteta’s side will make a move for the 21-year-old. Whether Pulisic would be a realistic alternative, though, it is debatable.

Chelsea would probably consider selling the American international in January but you can’t see them offloading the winger to a London rival. Arsenal will likely have to explore alternatives if they want to strengthen their options in wide areas.
