Arsenal’s Plans To Sign ‘New Neymar’ For 30M Jeopardised After Latest Development

Arsenal may have to move quickly if they want to land Sevilla winger Bryan Gil, according to Mundo Deportivo.

The Catalan based publication reports that both the Gunners and Barcelona are interested in the 20-year-old but Sevilla are planning to offer the forward a new contract which would increase his release clause.

Gil’s current buyout fee is €35m (£30m) but Sevilla technical director Monchi is confident of increasing it to €150m (£130m) which would put him out of the reach of interested clubs.

The Spaniard is currently on loan at Eibar and a Barcelona scout, German Vaya Ballabriga, has spoken about the player in recent weeks saying he has similar qualities to Neymar:

“Right now he is Spain’s best footballer and I compare him with Neymar. He can do certain things and has great versatility, as he can play at full-back in the middle or on the left-wing. It’s impressive.”

Whether Gil can live up to that lofty comparison, we shall have to wait and see. For Eibar this season, the winger has recorded pretty modest numbers, having scored three goals and provided three assists in 16 appearances.
