Arsenal’s former goalkeeper, Bob Wilson seems very fond of Wenger and his achievements, as he continues to back up the Frenchman with each and every chance he gets.

According to Metro, Wilson recently pointed out some not so obvious things that have gone under the radar for the past few years when it comes to Wenger’s managerial abilities. Despite not being able to win anything for almost a decade now, Arsenal have set the base for what seems to be a very bright future. The Gunners somehow managed to balance the budget after constructing a new stadium while still keeping up with Europe’s best clubs.

As Wilson said, Wenger is truly a miracle worker considering how great the team plays even if Ozil is the only big investment Arsenal made. Before him, the Gunners were always there on top and despite not being able to win any trophies, fans still had something to root for.

Calling him a specialist in failure, as Mourinho did, is really offensive for someone like Wenger who is amongst the few who really made a mark on Premier League football without any massive, MEGA financial aid. His team was built because of the Frenchman’s excellent eye for talent and incredible work ethic when it comes to young players. People can only imagine what a manager like him would do given a budget similar to that of City or Chelsea.

Hopefully Wilson will no longer have to jump in Wenger’s defense as the Gunners have a really great chance at winning at least one trophy this year. Ending the 9 year drought would surely be a nice way for the Frenchman to start this new journey on which Arsenal seem to have embarked since finishing paying for Emirates Stadium.
