There is no doubt that the Ghanaian international’s form trailed off at the end of the season.

However, Partey was a dominant figure in Arsenal’s midfield right up until mid-April and it is hard to imagine that the Gunners could have mounted a title challenge without him.


The biggest issue remains his fitness and, while he did play 40 games in all competitions this campaign, he has found it hard to play at the same intensity, week in, week out.

Manager Mikel Arteta will likely sign someone to offer Partey more support this summer.
