Arsenal’s ‘Fear’ Of Losing Star Duo Has Led To Crisis Talks Over Emery’s Future

Arsenal held crisis talks with manager Unai Emery immediately after the 2-2 draw against Southampton on Saturday, according to the Daily Mail.

It is claimed that officials are concerned that the Gunners will miss out on the Champions League, and they “fear” that both Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette could leave in the summer.

Both players are in talks with the club over new deals, with Aubameyang’s contract the most urgent with his current deal expiring in just over eighteen months time.

If they don’t see signs of progress on the field, they may stall on signing renewals, which would force the club into selling one or even both of them.

Head of Football Operations Raul Sanllehi and technical director Edu are yet to make a decision on Emery’s future, but they are seriously concerned about how far they are behind in the race for a top-four finish.

Whether the situation over Aubameyang and Lacazette will force them into a decision over sacking the manager, we shall have to wait and see.
