Arsenal Could Snap Up Austrian Midfield Maestro On Free Transfer Following Contract Development

RB Leipzig midfielder Marcel Sabitzer is seriously considering leaving the Bundesliga club on a free transfer when his contract expires in 2022, according to reports in Germany.

The Austrian international is believed to have turned down the chance to hold talks over a new deal, with the plan currently to see out the remaining eighteen months on his contract.

Arsenal and Tottenham are thought to be the two main clubs interested in Sabitzer, although it remains to be seen whether either club would be willing to wait another season before signing him.

If Leipzig know the 26-year-old has no intention of renewing his contract, the German club may look to offload him next summer in order to raise some funds from his sale.

Were Sabitzer to be available for a cut-price deal, that would certainly attract the Gunners, considering the Austrian has averaged a goal or an assist every 2.45 games during his time in the Bundesliga.
