Arsenal’s Chase For A Third Striker Continues

Arsenal are left with only two box strikers after Sanogo signed with Ajax for the next year and even though some may argue players like Walcott or Sanchez could replace him if needed, it would be best for at least one more attacker to join the lot. There have been several rumors linking Arsenal to Europe’s best but nothing actually happened. With almost a month’s worth of time until the beginning of the Premier League season, The Gunners definitely need to move. Manchester United, Liverpool and City have made some very interesting moves and have insisted on the idea that a competition such as the Premier League is not won only with talent and work but also with a seriously equipped lot. Arsenal’s most recent target is Edin Dzeko who may look like the most plausible move out of the plethora of rumors that say which striker will be signed by Wenger. City’s striker who has struggled to become a team regular since the first day he joined the Citizens is under contract with the team from Manchester until 2018 but could be tempted by the chance of starting over. In 189 games for City, Dzeko made 39 assists and scored 72 goals which is very similar to Giroud’s stats. Not sure if Arsenal would really benefit off of bringing in the 29-year-old striker, who is not cheap. According to TeamTalk, City expect £15million for the Bosnian international, money which could be spent on a younger, more promising player ready to fight for a spot in the team.
