Arsenal’s 35M Move For Sander Berge Could Hinge On The Club Signing Another Player

Sheffield United midfielder Sander Berge is only likely to join Arsenal this summer if Martin Odegaard also signs on a permanent basis, according to Football.London.

The website claims that the Blades star is interested in moving to the Emirates, but his close friendship with his Norwegian international teammate means the transfer could hinge on Odegaard staying with the Gunners.

Berge is on Arsenal’s shortlist of targets, but the cost of signing both the 23-year-old and Odegaard this summer could be extremely high.

Real Madrid are reportedly demanding around £40m for Odegaard, and it is believed Berge won’t be much cheaper. The midfielder does have a relegation release clause, but that stands at £35m, which Sheffield United will ask any interested team to trigger.

Berge is also said to be interesting clubs like Aston Villa, Liverpool and even Manchester City but it does seem the Gunners will have the edge if they can find the funds to sign him and Odegaard.
