Arsenal’s 10 Game Win Streak Comes To An End

Yesterday’s Premier League match started with both teams looking to score. The first chance came from Arteta. The reply came from Berahino who tested Szczesny with a long-range shot. The fans had a lot to see during the following minutes. The match had excellent pace and Arsenal showed great composure. Their passing style is mesmerizing at times and can really put any adversary to the test. Wilshere who was included in the starting eleven even after his small dispute with Wenger had the next important chance but failed to hit the target. Ozil looked a bit tired but luckily for the Gunners, Arteta stepped in to help Arsenal’s newest transfer.

The 34th minute made Arsenal fans a bit nervous after WBA requested a penalty when Sessegnon went down into the box. The referee waved play on and the game continued. Ramsey almost scored again for his team but the ball was cleared by Mulumbu.

With only 4 minutes left out of the first half, WBA’s Claudio Yacob managed a goal. He took advantage of some poor defending on Arsenal’s behalf and headed in a cross from Amalfitano for his 1st WBA goal.

The second half started with a great chance for WBA, but Anelka failed to deliver. The same thing happened 5 minutes into the second half when Arsenal’s former player missed the target. The 60th minute saw Arsenal protesting after an alleged handball that could have meant a penalty shot for the Gunners. The referee waved play on once again.

Three minutes after that Wilshere managed a lucky goal that was the result of some amazing passing skills from the Gunners. He fired a shot from just outside the box that got passed Myhill because of a slight deflection from one of WBA’s defenders. It would have probably ended up in the arms of the Goalkeeper if not for that slight change of trajectory.

The last 20 minutes of the game could have gone either way. Both teams had important chances of scoring but neither Giroud nor Jones could get the winning goal. The match ended in a 1-1 draw that keeps Arsenal on top of the Premier league.
