Arsenal fullback Jurrien Timber was forced off in the second half during the 2-2 draw against Liverpool at the weekend.
The Dutchman had been sidelined for nearly a month before playing on Sunday so it was a risk to start him.
Timber is believed to have felt some tightness in his calf muscle so the decision was made to take the defender off the pitch as a precaution.
There is hope that the Netherlands international was only suffering from cramp and he will be available for this week’s fixtures.
