Arsenal Willing To Break Wage Record For Striker!

Arsenal Willing To Break Wage Record For Striker!Despite the Red’s insistence that their star striker will not be sold to a top-four rival, Wenger is not giving up the chase on his number one transfer target this summer as he looks to complete a move for the Uruguayan in an ‘amicable’ manner.

The 26-year-old has stopped short of submitted a transfer request in order to force a move to the Emirates but reports suggest he would consider it if Liverpool dramatically change their stance on the prolific striker.

Arsenal have twice bid for the player, but the second bid of £40 million plus £1 did not activate Suarez’s release clause as they had hoped. Even Liverpool owner John W Henry has refused to sanction Suarez’s exit from Anfield and has already informed Arsenal chief Ivan Gazidis about the same.

However, according to Metro, Wenger is quietly confident that he can land his man before the transfer window slams shut on the last day of August. The report suggests that Wenger has already drawn a four-year contract for the Uruguay international that will make him the best paid player ever at the club.

Suarez earns £120,000-a-week at Liverpool but if he decides to jump ship, he will earn a cool £160,000-a-week which would make him the highest paid player at the Emirates by a mile. Currently, Theo Walcott and Lukas Podolski are the highest paid players at the club, both pocketing £100,000-a-week.

Wenger has identified Suarez as the ‘marquee’ signing to put the Gunners back on the map, which is why he is prepared to pay such a huge transfer fee, along with the exorbitant wages, to get his man.

The report also suggests that the Gunners expect some news on the possibility of a deal in the next few days.
