“Arsenal Fans Are Going To Be Furious”: William Gallas Makes Bold Mikel Arteta Claim Amid Premier League Title Race Vs Liverpool

Former Arsenal defender William Gallas has said that the fans could turn on Mikel Arteta if they don’t win the Premier League title.

The Gunners currently sit second in the table, six points behind Liverpool, who have a game in hand on Arteta’s side.

They recently were knocked out of the Carabao Cup by Newcastle United, meaning that they only remain in the Premier League and the Champions League.

The Gunners face Liverpool on the third-to-last game of the season, which could prove to be crucial for the title race.

Gallas has said that he thinks Arsenal fans will turn on manager Arteta if they fail to win the league, especially considering the recent failings to sign a striker in January.

He told Prime Casino: “At the moment, the club I still in the race and everything is calm, but if that changes, I think some of the Arsenal fans are going to be furious and will be looking for someone to blame (for not buying a striker).

“I think most of them are just waiting to jump on Arteta. To express their emotion about that problem. I didn’t really realize how some fans were so angry with Mikel Arteta about it. I know it’s social media and that isn’t exactly the environment for rational thought, but I’ve seen some crazy things on there.

“I was surprised. I didn’t expect that. As I said, unfortunately, if Arsenal doesn’t win anything, especially the Premier League or the Champions League, I don’t think some fans will give any credit to Michel Arteta. I think the fans will still be mad because what they expect, what they want, is to win the Premier League.”

Who could replace Arteta if he leaves Arsenal in summer

The Arsenal boss is under pressure to bring trophies to the Emirates, although as things stand, he is fairly comfortable in his job at Arsenal.

If he was to leave, according to SportsCasting, Inter Milan boss Simone Inzaghi is the favourite to take over from Arteta at odds of 2/1.

Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique is the second favourite at odds of 5/1, with former Barcelona boss Xavi third favourite at 8/1.
