PSG only signed the Senegalese international for £30m last summer but the Ligue One side reportedly proposed using the player, along with Julian Draxler, as they tried to negotiate a potential swap deal.
However, it does appear that the player exchange is now dead in the water. When asked about the French club’s interest in Guendouzi at a press conference yesterday, manager Thomas Tuchel refuted the claims.
Gueye would have been an interesting signing, as he shares some of the same qualities as Thomas Partey. The Gunners are still keen on signing the Atletico Madrid midfielder but the €50m (£46m) release clause is proving to be an insurmountable obstacle.
The Ghanaian international is said to be keen on a move to the Emirates but Arsenal are unlikely to make a formal offer for the player unless they can raise more funds through the sale of players like Guendouzi.
