Arsenal Weighing Up Offer For Cameroon International Shot-Stopper

Arsenal are keen on signing Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana, according to De Telegraaf.

The Dutch newspaper reports that the Gunners, Barcelona, West Ham and Tottenham have all registered an interest in the Cameroon international.

Barca are believed to be leading the race for Onana, though, with the 22-year-old’s representatives confirming the Catalan club are looking at the shot-stopper:

“It is no secret that Barca is interested.”

It is said that Onana is being lined up by the La Liga champions to replace reserve goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen if the Dutchman leaves the Camp Nou.

With regards to Arsenal, it is believed they will be seeking a replacement for Petr Cech, who is retiring at the end of the season.

Some reports have suggested that the Gunners don’t have the cash to invest in a new keeper with current no.3 Emiliano Martinez tipped to be promoted to Bernd Leno’s understudy.

However, a move for Onana would indicate that their transfer budget is not as limited as some have reported.
