Arsenal Weigh Up January Loan Exit For 20 Year Old Who Ian Wright Described As “Special”

Arsenal are considering whether to loan out Folarin Balogun when the transfer window reopens in January, according to Football.London’s Chris Wheatley.

The website’s Gunners correspondent claims that the 20-year-old could be allowed to leave on a temporary basis in order to get more game time.

A final decision has not yet been made but, if he doesn’t feature more prominently in the coming weeks, there is a strong possibility that Balogun will be sent out on loan for the short term.

It has been a rollercoaster ride for the striker, having made his league debut against Brentford on the opening day before being left out of the matchday squad in six of the last seven games.

To get minutes under his belt, Balogun has been forced into playing games for the Under 23s. Arsenal legend Ian Wright said he was excited about the player’s potential back in May:

“We’ve got players that I think are good enough, we’ve got some young players that could be amazing. You talk about Balogun, he could be something special but that remains to be seen.”

It now seems like the forward will need to prove himself away from the Emirates. We shall see which teams emerge as favourites for the player’s signature.
