Arsenal want Tottenham star in surprise summer deal

Arsenal are ready to battle with both Manchester United and Liverpool for Tottenham Hotspur’s Heung-Min Son, according to reports.

The 25-year-old has been one of Spurs stand-out players in the past few seasons since completing his £22 million switch from Bayer Leverkusen in 2015.

In three seasons with Mauricio Pochettino’s side, Son has scoring 47 goals in 139 appearances for the club, helping them to 3rd, 2nd and 3rd placed finishes in the top flight.

However according to Sport1, Son is open to leaving Spurs this summer amidst interest from Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool.

Arsenal are open the hunt for a new winger having let go of Alexis Sanchez in January and having seemingly missed out on top target, Monaco’s Thomas Lemar.

However Gunners boss Unai Emery has only a limited transfer budget to spend this summer of around £60 million, which could hold back Arsenal in their pursuit of Son.

The South Korea international has two years remaining on his contract with Tottenham and Sport1 claim that the club will demand at least €70 million (£62m) for the 25-year-old.

Son is currently with South Korea’s squad at the World Cup and is preparing for his nation’s final game group game against Germany this evening.
