Arsenal have joined other Premier League teams in tracking Red Bull Salzburg striker Roko Simic, according to reports in the English media.

The Croatian Under 21 international is currently on loan at Salzburg’s feeder club FC Liefering, where he has scored seven goals in 10 matches this season.

Simic’s progress is being monitored by Gunners scouts, who have been impressed by the 18-year-old’s physicality and ability to hold up the ball, despite his young age.

The teenager has also been linked with Tottenham and West Ham in recent days, and it is believed that he could be available for a pretty modest fee.

Simic only made the switch to Austria from NK Lokomotiva Zagreb in July but it is believed Salzburg may look to make a quick profit on the player, having reportedly set an asking price of £7m (plus add-ons). Whether that will tempt Arsenal into making a bid in January, we shall see.
