Arsenal and Atletico Madrid are both monitoring RB Leipzig right back Lukas Klostermann’s contract situation, according to Fussballtransfers.com. The German website claims both teams have made their interest known in the player.
The German international’s current deal expires in 2021, and Leipzig’s sporting director Markus Krosche confirmed earlier this week that the club have discussed a possible extension.
Klostermann was first linked with the Gunners back in July, and it appears the London club have continued to keep tabs on the fullback at the start of the season.
The 23-year-old has made nine appearances in all competitions for Leipzig this campaign, and has also begun to establish himself as a regular starter at international level for Germany.
Klostermann played the full 90 minutes on Wednesday night as Joachim Low’s side drew 2-2 with Argentina in a friendly. He also started the last two Euro 2020 qualifiers against the Netherlands and Northern Ireland last month.
