Arsenal Vying With London Rivals For £44m Rated Barca Misfit

Arsenal are looking at Barcelona winger Malcom as a possible signing in the January transfer window, according to reports in Spain.

The Brazilian only moved to the Camp Nou in the summer for €41m but he has managed just two cameo appearances under manager Ernesto Valverde this season.

The Gunners and Inter Milan have reportedly made enquiries about signing Malcom on loan when the window reopens, but Barca are said to be only considering a permanent deal.

Tottenham are also believed to have entered the race in recent days. It is reported that Arsenal’s London rivals would be prepared to offer up to €50m (£44m) for the 21-year-old after failing to make a single signing in the summer.

Malcom had been on the Gunners’ radar last January while he was still at Bordeaux. The player is another name that can be added to a long list of wingers that the London club have been linked with in recent months.

Lille’s Nicolas Pepe, Rennes’ Ismaila Sarr, Boca Juniors’ Cristian Pavon and Roma’s Cengiz Under have all been reported as possible transfer targets.
