Arsenal have joined Chelsea and Manchester United in the battle to sign Fiorentina winger Federico Chiesa, according to reports in the Italian media.

The Viola’s owner Rocco Commisso has raised the prospect of the Italian international leaving the Serie A side in recent days.

Chiesa, himself, has though come out to say he is not currently negotiations with any club about a possible transfer, and it must also be pointed that the 22-year-old has a very high asking price.

The Italian could fetch as much as £60m when the transfer window reopens; a figure which is likely to be beyond the Gunners’ transfer budget.

Head of Football Raul Sanllehi has reportedly suggested that transfers will not be a priority this summer due to the current global situation. Despite that, though, they are said to be keen on Thomas Partey who is rated at £44m.

Arsenal have also been linked with another winger, Valencia’s Carlos Soler, who manager Mikel Arteta is said to be keen on, so perhaps Chiesa is being monitored as a potential alternative.
