Arsenal fans’ title hopes were dented on Saturday afternoon as they faced defeat at St James’ Park against Newcastle.
It is the third consecutive Premier League game without a win for Arsenal as they now sit seven points off the top of the table after 10 matches.
In the previous two games, Mikel Arteta’s side lost to Bournemouth and then drew 2-2 to league leaders Liverpool last weekend.
The Gunners will hope their form can improve for next week’s Premier League clash against Chelsea who come off the back of a 1-1 draw against Manchester United.
Following the 1-0 loss on Saturday, Gunners fans took to X to react to the result, it’s fair to say that many weren’t happy.
Just proved how important Odegaard is for this team

Jokes aside . We are not yet at the level required of winning the PL title
Let’s focus on top four and cup titles

Hope today the blame won’t be on poor refereeing, we can all agree that Arteta is the problem at the club.

Have to regroup, hold each other accountable and move on. Still lots to play for.

Key Arsenal midfielder close to a return
Many of the Arsenal fans have been praying for the return of Martin Odegaard who has been injured since the October international break.
He suffered an ankle injury whilst playing for Norway and is in recovery, closing in on returning to full fitness, something that Mikel Arteta will want to hear.
He is beginning to train with the team again; Arteta said: “Now is the stage when he will do certain work with us. Let’s see how he deals with pain. With the work and the hours, he’s put in, I would be surprised that the moment he starts training with us, we don’t say that he looks ready.”
