Rodri Issues “Incredible” Arsenal Verdict As Man City Star Shares Thoughts On The Gunners’ Summer Signings

Man City midfielder Rodri has said that Arsenal made some “incredible signings” over the summer.

The Gunners are in a great position right now, they sit second in the Premier League, having won three of four games, and they also got their Champions League campaign off to a winning start. Mikel Arteta’s side won 2-0 against Athletic Club in midweek thanks to goals from Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard.

Furthermore, star winger Bukayo Saka could be making his return from his hamstring injury this weekend, which will be a huge boost for Arteta, but it will certainly make his team selection that bit harder.

However, they do face a Man City side, who come off the back of a 3-0 win in the Premier League over rivals Man United. Pep Guardiola’s team are looking strong, and striker Erling Haaland is looking about the best he ever has.

Rodri hints that Arsenal are favourites against Man City

Last season, Arsenal managed to get the better of City in what was yet again a bitter rivalry. The two sides drew during their first meeting in September, before Arsenal won 5-1 in a demolition in the Spring.

Ahead of their meeting this weekend, Man City midfielder, and Ballon d’Or winner Rodri shared his thoughts on whether he thinks Arsenal’s squad is in a good position, referencing their summer signings.

He told Stadium Astro: “Yeah, we’re going with the mentality to win there. I don’t care what happened last season. We have the level to go there and show again our best shape.

“We know they’re an unbelievable team, they reform the team every year with incredible signings, and every day they are better and better, like every team. It is the beginning of the season, but it will be a good message if we go and win in their home.”

It will be the first time that City will come up against the new look Arsenal, with the likes of Viktor Gyokeres, Martin Zubimendi, Noni Madueke and Eberechi Eze all expected to make an impact.
