Arsenal Vs Leeds: Match Preview & Injury News

Arsenal will be looking to extend their lead over second placed Manchester City at the weekend – to do so, they will need to beat a dangerous Leeds United outfit.

The Gunners are expected to be without Takehiro Tomiyasu, Eddie Nketiah, William Saliba and Mohamed Elneny for their clash against the team from West Yorkshire. On top of this, Thomas Partey and Kieran Tierney are both major doubts – their availibility is currently not clear.

The last time the two teams met, all the way back in October, Arsenal defeated Leeds in a tight, tense encounter. Bukayo Saka’s first half strike was the only goal of the game – but Leeds were perhaps a trifle unfortunate to have come away with nothing to show for their efforts.

Arsenal are currently top of the Premier League table. They have a lead of eight points over Manchester City, but the Sky Blues also have a game in hand that they could take advantage of. As such, Arsenal will need to win most – if not all – of their remaining games if they want to keep their distance from the rest of the pack.

Meanwhile, Leeds are 14th in the table. They have had a troublesome campaign and are just two points above the drop zone – despite this, the Whites also have a game in hand over several of the teams around them, including Everton and Wolves.
