Arsenal welcome Crystal Palace to the Emirates on Wednesday night, hoping to keep their recent good form going.
They won 4-0 against Ipswich Town in their last match at the weekend, when goals came from Gabriel Martinelli, Leandro Trossard and Ethan Nwaneri.
The game this week will be a title decider, as Liverpool will secure the Premier League trophy if Arsenal fail to win against Palace this week. They will be hoping for more of the same against Oliver Glasner’s side, as they beat them 5-1 in their last game in December.
Mikel Arteta decided against resting some of his star players against Ipswich despite the fact that they made it through to the Champions League semi-finals last week against Real Madrid.
He may decide to drop Bukayo Saka for the game against Palace, as he picked up a knock against Ipswich, although it is not expected to be a major one. Arteta will also be without Riccardo Calafiori, Gabriel, Jorginho, Kai Havertz, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Gabriel Jesus, who are all injured for the game.
Palace will be without Chadi Riad, Cheick Doucoure, and Chris Richards as the trio are all injured and will be out for the game on Wednesday.
Arsenal backed heavily to beat Palace
The Gunners are the better team on paper, and also based on recent form as Palace are winless in their last three matches. The bookmakers’ odds reflect the form.
According to Oddschecker, the Gunners are backed at odds of 5/12 to beat Palace on Wednesday night, which gives them a 70% chance to win at the Emirates.
Crystal Palace are backed at odds of 8/1, giving them an 11% chance to beat the Gunners, and a draw is backed at odds of 19/5 (21%). We predict a 3-1 win for Arteta’s side.
