Arsenal vs Cardiff – Match Preview and Predicted XI

Arsenal travel to Cardiff on Sunday hoping to build on their victory against West Ham last weekend.

Cardiff are the only team in English league football that are yet to score a single goal this season, but have managed to come away with two points from their opening three games – showing that they have a very underrated defence.

Arsenal beat West Ham 3-1 last week, ensuring Unai Emery’s men collected their first points of the season after suffering back-to-back defeats against Manchester City and Chelsea.

And Emery will be hoping for nothing less than a victory against Cardiff as they prepare for their last game before the international break.

Emery will be without three players to face the Welsh outfit. Sead Kolasinac will not be back until October due to a knee injury, and Ainsley Maitland-Niles was ruled out until November with a fractured fibula.

Laurent Koscielny, who suffered a serious Achilles injury in May, is out until November at the earliest.

Mesut Ozil missed the Gunners’ last game against the Hammers, but is back in training – it remains to be seen whether he will play a part.

Neil Warnock’s will be without Aron Gunnarsson and Nathaniel Mendez-Laing, who are both out with knee injuries.

Junior Hoilett is also a doubt after suffering a groin injury, but Warnock has indicated that the Canadian will start if he is close to fitness.

Here’s how we think Arsenal will line-up against Cardiff:

Cech

Bellerin, Mustafi, Papastathopoulos, Monreal

Torreira, Xhaka, Ramsey

Mkhitaryan, Aubameyang, Lacazette

Predicted Score: 0-3 Arsenal
