Arsenal V Watford: Team News And Betting Odds

Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta has stated that he will field a “strong team” against Watford despite there being nothing riding on the game for his side.

The Gunners boss says he will respect the other clubs in the relegation battle, with the fight for survival going down to the final day.

Arteta doesn’t have many other options anyway considering the number of injury absentees. Shkodran Mustafi is still sidelined with a hamstring injury and is unlikely to make the FA Cup final.

Reiss Nelson is a doubt due to a groin strain, while Bernd Leno (knee), Pablo Mari (ankle), Gabriel Martinelli (knee) and Calum Chambers (knee) are all out of contention.

Arteta did confirm that both Mesut Ozil and Matteo Guendouzi are available for selection but it would be a surprise if either player was involved in the matchday squad on Sunday.

For Watford, caretaker manager Hayden Mullins knows they must better Aston Villa’s result to stay in the top flight. He has four players sidelined in Etienne Capoue (knock), Gerard Deulofeu (knee), Isaac Success (Achilles) and Daryl Janmaat (knee).

At the bookies, Arsenal are the firm favourites with Sky Bet pricing them at 19/20 odds-on for the win. A draw is 3/1 with Betfred while a Watford victory is also 3/1 at Betfair.

Predicted Score – 1-1
