Arsenal V Southampton: Match Preview, Team News And Betting Odds

Arsenal put in a lacklustre display against Everton on Monday night, and the pressure is now well and truly back on manager Mikel Arteta.

The Gunners face Southampton this weekend and, while the Saints did perform well versus Brighton at the weekend, they are struggling to score goals, so this should be a good opportunity for Arteta’s side to get back to winning ways.

In terms of team news, Emile Smith Rowe (groin), Gabriel Martinelli (hamstring) and Bernd Leno (groin) are major doubts, while Sead Kolasinac (ankle) has been ruled out.

Southampton have been forced to sign an emergency goalkeeper in Willy Caballero after Alex McCarthy (hamstring) and Fraser Forster (muscular) were both sidelined. Jan Bednarek and Stuart Armstrong have calf injuries while Mohamed Salisu and Oriol Romeu are suspended.

The bookmakers have made Arsenal the favourites with Coral pricing them at 4/6 for the win. A draw is currently 3/1 with Sky Bet while a victory for the Saints is 9/2 at Paddy Power.

Predicted Score – 2-1 to Arsenal
