Arsenal V Manchester City: Match Preview

Freddie Ljungberg would have been delighted to get his first three points on the board as Arsenal’s interim head coach with the victory against West Ham on Monday night.

However, his team will be given a tough test this weekend when they face Manchester City, with Pep Guardiola’s side still reeling from the defeat in the Manchester derby. It’s likely to be an intriguing contest at the Emirates this Sunday.

In terms of the teams, the Gunners have suffered a serious setback with Kieran Tierney having suffered a dislocated shoulder in the 3-1 win over the Hammers. He joins Hector Bellerin (hamstring), Rob Holding (knee) and Dani Ceballos (hamstring) on the treatment table.

City also have a number of injury concerns heading into the weekend. David Silva sat out the game against Dinamo Zagreb last night due to a knock, but it shouldn’t keep him out of the game on Sunday.

John Stones has, though, been ruled out after suffering a hamstring injury against United. He is expected to be out for three weeks. The fitness of Sergio Aguero also remains a worry with the striker still recovering from a thigh problem.

Leroy Sane and Aymeric Laporte (both knee) are both still out of contention, with the pair likely to be out until the start of February.

Predicted Score – 3-1 to City
