Arsenal will be hoping that the international break doesn’t halt their momentum. They head into the game against Leicester City on Monday night off the back of nine straight wins in all competitions.
The Gunners have one new injury concern heading into the match. Sokratis Papathastopoulos had to be taken off at half-time playing for Greece against Finland in a UEFA Nations League match on Monday.
Reports suggest that the defender suffered an ankle sprain, but we won’t know the full extent of the 30-year-old’s injury until he is assessed by the club’s medical team.
Mesut Ozil is back in contention for the match against the Foxes. He took a full part in training this week after missing the 5-1 win over Fulham with back spasms. Ainsley Maitland-Niles is also ready to make his return after recovering from a fractured fibula.
However, Danny Welbeck and Petr Cech are still doubts for the game on Monday. Both have been suffering from hamstring problems, and it is touch and go whether they’ll be fit for Leicester’s visit to the Emirates.
Laurent Koscielny (Achilles) and Konstantinos Mavropanos (groin) are still out of action.
For Leicester City, captain Wes Morgan is suspended after being sent off against Everton in the 2-1 defeat. Demarai Gray could return after missing the last two league games with an ankle injury.
Arsenal’s predicted eleven to face Leicester:
Leno
Bellerin, Mustafi, Holding, Monreal
Xhaka, Torreira
Iwobi, Ozil, Aubameyang
Lacazette
Predicted Score – Arsenal to win 2-1
